We are honest about the limits of automated advice: it is a tool, not a replacement for your own eyes or a mechanic. What a source does not provide, we do not invent.

Where does the data come from?
From you. We have no vehicle register we are allowed to query in France, so you enter make, model, year and mileage yourself — and the report states explicitly that this data is unverified.
What do I have to enter myself?
Make, model, year and mileage — that is enough to start. Paste in the listing text and the asking price as well and we will include the price and the risk signals.
What does a report cost?
Nothing. Plateop is free: there is no payment function and you do not need an account; you create a report and can read it straight away.
Do I need an account?
No. Plateop works without registration or login: we ask for no name, email address or password and build no profile. The list of your reports lives on your own device only, and your report is reachable through its own link.
Is this an inspection or an appraisal?
No, neither. Plateop does not see the car and does not drive it, so we do not assess its technical condition and do not issue an official value — if in doubt, always have a car inspected independently.
What can you not see in France?
Everything that should come from a register: inspection history, mileage history and damage history. We have no register we are allowed to query in France, so the report works with what you enter and says so. We do see recalls at make/model level (not vehicle-specific, via the EU Safety Gate) — if this country also has a vehicle-specific recall lookup, request it yourself.
How reliable is the advice?
The advice from Plateop is a tool, not a mechanic's verdict. The automated analysis is not allowed to invent model-specific problems it has no reliable knowledge about and says so when something is unknown — always check the important points yourself.
Can I compare several cars?
Yes. Every report you open is remembered on your own device; with two or three completed reports Plateop puts them side by side — asking price, mileage, risk signals and purchase score in one table. If the cars are in different countries, each row keeps its own currency.
